Partners on the medium and unlimited plans can now sync private events and optionally choose to show those on any calendar.
Syncing private events can be huge as you are not forced to add all events to the public calendar. Depending on your workflow, you might enable this for your current calendar or create separate calendars per ministry, and embed those on your group or ministry’s website page(s).
By default, events not added to the public calendar do not get pulled over.
There are two main parts to this process:
Part 1 = Giving DisplayChurch.Events (DCE) permission to pull in your Church Community Builder (CCB) private events
Part 2 = Telling DCE which calendar views should display those events
PART 1: GIVING DCE PERMISSION TO PULL IN YOUR CCB PRIVATE EVENTS
Option 1: You are integrating DCE & CCB for the first time.
1.1 If you have not yet set up the API, open this article in a new tab: https://help.displaychurch.events/en/articles/3022662-church-community-builder-ccb-integration-setting-up-the-api
Once you have set up the API, go to 1.2 just below.
1.2 If you have set up the API but have not yet integrated, open this article in a new tab: https://help.displaychurch.events/en/articles/3022721-displaychurch-events-how-it-works-with-church-community-builder-ccb
Option 2: You need to edit your existing integration to give DCE the needed permission.
Here is the article you need. Open it in a new tab: https://help.displaychurch.events/en/articles/5545590-ccb-editing-your-existing-integration
PART 2: TELLING DCE WHICH CALENDAR VIEWS SHOULD DISPLAY PRIVATE EVENTS
Step 1: Log in to DCE.
Step 2: Click on Calendars (brown box below).
The Your Calendars page will display.
Step 3: Choose the calendar view you wish to work with. You have two options.
3.1 You can click on the calendar name (turquoise arrow below).
3.2 You can click on the Action menu (3 vertical dots, brown box & arrow below). When the menu opens up, click on Edit.
Step 4: Either way, the calendar view will open.
To display private events on your calendar view, toggle on the Show private events button (brown box above). It will turn blue.
Step 5: If you have not given permission to DCE to pull in your CCB private events while syncing, the message below will display. Click on the blue link Go to integration settings. This will take you to the Integrations page. What next? Open this article in a new tab: https://help.displaychurch.events/en/articles/5545590-ccb-editing-your-existing-integration
Step 6: If you have given permission, this recommendation will display when you toggle on the button. If you wish to set up further events filtering, open this article in a new tab: https://help.displaychurch.events/en/articles/4447435-setup-events-filtering-filter-selection-ccb
Step 7: Click Submit to save your changes.
