In Setup, you chose filtering options for Group, Campus, Department, and Location.

Here is a reminder of our example choices:

In this article, we will first explain how your calendar / event list viewers work with these filters. Then, we will walk you through finding and modifying them.

What your viewers see and do...

Let's assume that you have toggled on at least one filter.

Step 1: Click on the Filter icon (box with lines in it) to display the action bar.

Step 2: Click on the filter desired.

A dropdown list will open (brown box below).

NOTE that the locations menu above = the locations selections we made in Setup (reminder below).

Step 3: Click on the location desired to set the filter. The page will refresh to the calendar / event list for this location.

Repeat Steps 2 & 3 as desired for the other filter options in the action bar.

NOTE

  1. If you have not selected specific items in Setup, then ALL the options will display.

  2. If you have chosen "ALL Groups" in Setup, the choices in the dropdown menu will not include inactive groups. In other words, inactive groups will be filtered out by DisplayChurch.Events.

To find these design items...

Step 1: After you log in, click on Calendars (brown box below).

The Your Calendars page will open.

Step 2: Choose the calendar you wish to modify (brown box below).

Step 3: Click on Design (brown box below).

Step 4: Scroll down and click on Headers and Links (brown box below).

Step 5: Scroll down until you find Groups selector, Campuses selector, Departments selector, Locations selector.

Let's compare the two images below.

In this first image, all the filters are toggled off (greyed out, brown box below). As a result, nothing is displayed above the month / year.

Notice that in the image below, the Groups selector is toggled on (blue color). As a result, a Filter icon (box with lines in it) appears above the month / year (white box, white arrow below).

Clicking on the Filter icon opens an action bar (brown arrow below). The items on the action bar = the filters you have toggled on (blue color, brown box below). In the image below, all the filters are toggled on. As a result, all four filter options appear on the action bar.

In the image below, we have toggled off Campuses selector and Locations selector (greyed out). As a result, they are not displayed on the action bar.

Simply toggle on/off the filters you wish your viewers to see on the action bar.

Click Save at the bottom of the column to save your changes.
