DisplayChurch.Events (DCE) is an app which allows you to easily create beautiful, embeddable calendar views by integrating your Church Community Builder™ (CCB) account. This integration automatically keeps your audience updated with your public and/or private events.

Section 1: Creating a free account

Go to the DisplayChurch.Events home page and click on Get Started for Free

Complete the form with your name, email, and password.

Then click Start Free Trial to begin the process.

Section 2: Activating your DisplayChurch.Events account

2a. Have a look at the Configuration Checklist on your Dashboard. Click Activate account to start your free trial (brown box in image above).

2b. Then, go to your email. You should see a message from DisplayChurch.Events. Make sure to check all your tabs including the Spam folder. If you do not see a message, return to your Dashboard and click Resend activation link (turquoise arrow above).

Click on the link in the email to activate your DisplayChurch.Events account. The green circle with the check mark shows you that you have successfully activated your account (see image below).

Section 3: Setting up your CCB - DCE integration

3a. There are two ways to get to the Integrations page.

One option is via the Dashboard.

Choosing your integration(s) is the second item in your Configuration Checklist (see brown box in image to the left).

Click on it to begin.

Another option is via the dropdown menu near your name.

Click on your name in the top, right-hand corner of your Dashboard.

A dropdown menu will open.

Click on Integrations (turquoise box in image to the right).

The Integrations page will open (image below).

3b. The CCB Integration is the leftmost item (turquoise arrow below).

Click on the Start integration button (brown box above). NOTE: The button will turn blue when you hover over it.

3c. The New integration screen will open.

You will need your API username, API password, and API server address. We have a separate article on how to create your API username and password if you have not already done so.

[[[ Here’s the short version: Log in to your CCB account and go to Settings. Click on API. Then click on Add a new API user. Complete the form in the User tab.

There are several services which you need to enable in order to have successful communication between your CCB account and DisplayChurch.Events. The services are: Find the list in this article (scroll down a bit in the article; it is towards the end).

Then, click on Save.

Your API server address is your CCB account URL. Subdomain is the part before the 'dot ccb church' section.

In this example, 'multisite' is the subdomain. So multisite is what needs to be filled in the field for the API server address. Your subdomain will be different, but it will be located in the same place. ]]]

OK...where were we? Ah yes...

3d. If you would like to include your private events, click on Pull private events from all calendars (turquoise box below). Don't worry -- you can always edit your integration later if you change your mind either way.

3e. Click Start Integration (brown box in image above).

3f. DCE will return you to the Integrations page. Note that now, the CCB section shows sync information. This means the integration has gone well.

You will also get a confirmation email. Make sure to check all your folders -- sometimes important things end up in Spam!

Congratulations! Now you are ready to begin adding calendars and customizing them to your church branding.

Here is the next article you need: General Overview of DisplayChurch.Events.

Have fun!
